Mary Johnson
Mary Johnson lives in Phoenix, but is a summer resident of Sister Bay. Her bold, colorful oil paintings generally reflect her love of Door County - its water, trees, flowers and countryside. A good play of colors is Mary's primary objective in each of her works. "I like strong colors that move around the canvas and use a lot of white because it keeps the painting clean and light; colors play well against it. Flowers seem to appear most frequently on my canvases, but I've been known to include people, pigs and pastures.
